September 20: a good start to the September 2008 under 14's GISS/MPFC representative team tour; steady results and good play shown by the Australian and Isalanders Sardegnian Italian GISS players. Results: MPFC 0 v 1 Juventus, MPFC 0 v 1 Torino Calcio, MPFC 0 v 2 Biellese, MPFC 2 v 3 Sc.Gabbetto.

September 26: the last two games saw MPFC play the most exciting games of the tour against Vado FC under 15's youth team, finishing 3-3. The team showed great determination coming back from a 3-1 score, the 4 participating Melbourne players Paraskevas, Carbone, Carter, and Goulopoulos being the backbone of the team, and showing the Italian teams that MPFC was no pushover, playing up to the level.

Yesterday the final game of the tour against serie A giants Genoa CFC (the strongest team they competed against, with 25 players), the score was 2-2 at half time and then MPFC legs just ran out... but a great show of spectacular goals and play shown by both teams, finishing 6-2 for the home team! The players had not only learnt by playing and training but also were very fortunate to see three live Serie A games: Juventus v Catania in Torino at the new Olympic stadium, Sampdoria v Chievo, where GISS star D'anna plays, and Sampdoria v Juventus in Genoa. Then to head home on the 28th.
